Eyebrow: About us

Free help, in plain words, for Fort Worth.

Short line: Fort Worth Benefits is a free community guide for Fort Worth and Tarrant County. We help neighbors find the food help, health coverage, housing help, and bill help they may qualify for — and we explain it the way a good neighbor would.

What we do

  • The checker — Answer a few questions and see the programs you may qualify for, with the phone number and next step for each one.
  • Plain-words guides — Every program we list is checked against its official source — the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas HHSC, JPS Health Network, and the nonprofits that run the help — so the details here match the details there.
  • Apply for Me — Tell us your situation once, and we’ll build you a free personal guide: your programs in order, starting with the problem you told us about.
  • A weekly email — New programs, deadlines that matter, and free local help, once a week.

What we are not

We are not a government agency, and we’re not part of the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas HHSC, or any program we list. We don’t submit applications for you, we can’t approve or deny anyone, and we’ll never charge you for help. If we can’t verify something, it doesn’t go on this site — and when a program closes or a waitlist shuts, we say so plainly.

Contact

  • Email: support@fortworthbenefits.com — the fastest way to reach us, and the right place for corrections. If you spot a wrong phone number or a program that changed, tell us and we’ll check it against the official source.
  • Applying for a program? Use the program’s own phone number from its guide — they can help you faster than we can.
  • Need help right now? Call 2-1-1 — free, confidential, 24 hours a day. In Tarrant County, 2-1-1 is run by United Way of Tarrant County.
  • Businesses: sponsorship questions go to support@fortworthbenefits.com, or see the Advertise page.
