Check Your Fridge, Fort Worth: 1.5 Million Pounds of Hot Dogs, Bacon and Deli Meat Recalled Nationwide — Here’s How to Tell If Yours Is Included

Before you cook, check the package. Hot dogs, bacon, sausages and deli meats made by Kayem Foods are under a nationwide recall. Look inside the round USDA stamp on the wrapper for one of these numbers: EST. M/P 7839, EST. P 20935A, or EST. M 9520. If your package has one of those numbers, do not eat it.

What happened

On October 17, 2026, the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Recall 026-2026: Kayem Foods Inc. of Chelsea, Massachusetts is recalling about 1,584,361 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry. It is a Class I recall — the most serious kind. The food was stored in a warehouse cooler that did not stay cold enough, which can let harmful germs grow.

The products were made between about March 31 and October 7, 2026, and shipped to stores and food-service locations all over the United States, including Texas. Some packages have best-by dates into early 2027, so the food may still be sitting in your fridge or freezer today.

Brands and foods included

The recall covers dozens of products sold under these brands: Kayem, Al Fresco, McKenzie Country Classics, Triple M, Deutschmacher, Genoa, Jordan’s, Essem, and Winnisimmet. The foods include hot dogs and franks, bacon, sausages and kielbasa, ham, sliced turkey breast, corned beef, and more.

Not every package from these brands is included. The establishment number inside the USDA stamp is what decides. To check a specific package, compare it with the official FSIS list of products and UPC codes: FSIS full product list (PDF). The full recall notice is here: USDA FSIS Recall 026-2026.

What to do

  • Do not eat the food, even if it looks and smells fine.
  • Throw it away, or return it to the store where you bought it.
  • Questions? Call Kayem Foods customer service at 1-800-426-6100.

FSIS says there have been no confirmed reports of illness from these products. If you feel sick after eating any of them, contact a doctor or clinic.
