Free Thanksgiving Food in Tarrant County: Where to Go This November
Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26 this year, and a holiday meal should not depend on what’s left in the bank account. Here is where Tarrant County families can get Thanksgiving food — including the big stadium distribution, what is confirmed so far, and how to get groceries any week in November.
The big one: TAFB’s Thanksgiving Mega Mobile Market
Every year, the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic host a Thanksgiving Mega Mobile Market at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Last year — its sixth year — about 4,700 families drove through and received roughly 80 pounds of food each, including a turkey or chickens and holiday staples. It is free, it is drive-through, and following Tarrant Area Food Bank policy, no ID or paperwork is required — families simply drive up.
The 2026 date has not been announced yet. In past years it fell the week before Thanksgiving. We will update this post the day TAFB announces it. You can also watch tafb.org, or call TAFB at 817-857-7100.
Food help all November long
You do not have to wait for one big event. Tarrant Area Food Bank works through 400+ partner pantries and mobile distributions across the county, running on their normal schedules through November — and many add holiday items this month. Use the Find Food map at tafb.org to see the pantry or mobile stop nearest you, with its days and hours.
A few rules that help: arrive early for mobile distributions (lines form fast), bring bags or a box if you can, and check the map the day before — schedules shift around the holiday week.
If you get SNAP — or might qualify
SNAP stretches a November budget further than any single distribution. If you are not sure you qualify, the fastest honest answer is our free checker — it looks at SNAP and 155 other local programs at once, in about two minutes: See what you qualify for. You can also browse food programs in Fort Worth.
